A Jawline Enhancement can improve the structure, add definition and decrease the appearance of jowls caused by aging.
As we age, bone and soft tissue starts to dissolve around the jawline. This combination of shrinking fat pads and loss of structural support in the jawline contributes to the formation of jowls. Overall, the appearance is that of an aging lower face and neck. To combat this, we can enhance this area, volumising the pre-jowl sulcus and along the mandible.
In terms of aesthetics, jawline enhancement can be an excellent treatment to create a chiselled, more defined jawline. This enhancement can also treat a weak asymmetric jawline. Here, volume can be added to reduce the deficits that occur to plump out the area in need of definition.
Jawline Enhancement can work particularly well with Jawline slimming and Nefertiti Neck lift treatments to further lift and define the lower face. In your consultation, your practitioner will be able to discuss what treatment options are available to best suit your needs.
After your and discussing your goals of treatment, your face will be mapped out. There are a couple of different techniques that your practitioner can use when performing your lower face enhancements. Jawline enhancements may be performed through the use of a cannula or needle or a combination of both. Throughout the treatment, your clinician will lightly massage the area. This allows the clinician to assess your skin perfusion, ensuring no adverse events have occurred.
Aftercare advice for your jawline enhancement will be the same as all dermal enhancing treatments. You will want to avoid any alcoholic beverages (where possible) as this can increase your chances of bruising and prolonged swelling. Refrain from any active skin treatments over the following 24 hours and all dermal enhancing treatments for at least 2 weeks. It is also advisable not to massage or lie directly on the area that has been injected for the first day. For more information about this, head across to our FAQ page.
At two weeks post your procedure, you will have an opportunity for a follow up appointment. It is advisable to attend this, especially if it is your first treatment. This allows your clinician to assess how the treatment went and address any concerns you may have in relation to the treatment.
